Pierce is an active 4 year old who loves cars, trucks, playing catch, and dancing with his sisters! He is really starting to talk to where others are able to understand him and big news in the last year...he got glasses! We took a trip to Disney World and to Universal Studios this year and he had sooooo much fun! He especially loved meeting the princesses and getting kisses from them, although his sisters were not too happy with all the kisses he was getting! Pierce is growing and thriving and that is due in large part to all of the support we have received from the moment he was born.
While in the hospital the social worker there told us about the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis and we kind of nodded and smiled as we were in a complete daze. On our way home from the hospital they called us and I chatted with them about having another mother who has a child with Ds to come make a home visit with me. That happened shortly after Pierce was born and they even brought books and presents for Pierce and us as new parents. Later I had a 2 hour phone call with a lady (who still works there and is so sweet and kind) about being a parent to a child with Ds. Then through the years we have made friends with other families, enjoyed many events, and this past year Chris even joined the board as a board member. We love this organization and all the support they give us and other families and we look forward to all of the support they will continue to give Pierce and us throughout his entire life! This is not just for children with Ds it is for all people with Ds and their famillies and they support our community in more ways then I could fit in this brief bio. Please know your support (or continued support for those that have been with us all along) allows us to continue to have this amazing organization in our community and continues to help fund these amazing events, learning sessions, play sessions, etc. Every cent is helpful, no matter how great or small. Thank you for your consideration!
