Gettin' DOWN With Harrison
Harrison is the sweetest little guy and can brighten anyone's day - he is known for his snuggles, his smiles, his flexibility, his love of movement and bouncing, his blue eyes, and his laid back, "chill" personality. We are so excited to walk in his name for our very FIRST year at Step Up for Down Syndrome!
After we received Harrison's prenatal Down syndrome diagnosis, the first thing we did was get plugged into the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis. We initially felt a bit overwhelmed with the new information, but soon saw through the DSA what a blessing individuals with Down syndrome are to their families and communities. We have been so blessed by our sweet Harrison, and we are grateful for this community that has served us even before he made his debut! We received resources from them, got placed with a mentor mom who also had a child with Down syndrome, received a sweet welcome basket and a visit from a staff member after Harrison was born. We met and were inspired by so many amazing moms in our same stage of life at a new mother's luncheon, developing relationships that have continued over the past 3 years! We've enjoyed in person play groups, birth group connections, workshop and learning opportunities... The DSAGSL was there for us from the beginning and will continue to support us on our journey through the years! We are so grateful for a local group like this and all of the ways they support individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Please join us in supporting this organization that is so special to us!
